Hi, I'm Brigid Monagle, the Victorian Public Sector Commissioner.
I'm speaking with you from the lands of the Wurundjeri people, and I pay my respects to their elders, past and present.
I'm pleased to be launching the 2024 Code of conduct for directors of Victorian public entities.
The code, revised by the Victorian Public Sector Commission, replaces the 2016 version.
It clarifies your existing obligations as a director and introduces restrictions on lobbying activities.
For example, you must not engage in any lobbying activity that may relate to the functions of your public entity and any former lobbying activities must be declared.
The revised code has also been modernised and made easier to read.
I encourage you to read the new code and familiarise yourself with what the updates mean for you.
