The Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria (the Veterinary Board) is a statutory body created through the passing of the Veterinary Practice Act 1997 (the Act).
The Veterinary Board protects the public and the health and welfare of animals by regulating veterinary practitioners through the effective administration of the Act.
The nine members of the Veterinary Board meet every month to oversee the operations, consider complaints against registered veterinary practitioners, and consider applications for registration in Victoria.
The Board consists of the following categories:
Registered veterinary practitioners are sought for appointment as non-Executive Director (Board Member) from July 2026. (Please see the attached Candidate Success Profiles document).
Ideally all successful candidates will understand board governance and have experience working in a collaborative team environment. Qualifications such as AICD or the Corporate Governance Institute would be advantageous.
To be considered for appointment in a role as a registered veterinary practitioner, you will need to have at least five years’ post-registration experience.
