Purpose
The functions of the VRT are to hear and determine:
1. appeals in relation to decisions made under the rules of racing (the rules) to impose a penalty on a person;
2. appeals in relation to decisions made under the rules following a direction made by the Racing Integrity Commissioner;
3. charges made against a person for a serious offence;
4. any matter referred to the VRT:
a. on HRV's own motion;
b. on GRV's own motion;
c. on RV's own motion;
d. on the recommendation of the Chief Steward or Deputy Chief Steward of a controlling body;
e. on the recommendation of a steward who is acting as either the Chief Steward or Deputy Chief Steward of a controlling body;
5. appeals against decisions of a controlling body to refuse to grant approval for a bookmaker to operate from off-course premises; and
6. appeals relating to a Trainer User Agreement.
