Exciting opportunity to join the Shrine of Remembrance Trustees
An exciting opportunity is currently open to contribute to the strategic direction of Victoria's National War Memorial, which honours the service and sacrifice of Australians in war, conflict, peacemaking and peacekeeping.
The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) invites expressions of interest from interested Victorians to become a Shrine Trustee.
About the role
The Shrine of Remembrance Trustees are responsible for the care, management, maintenance and preservation of the Shrine of Remembrance; and for the care, management, maintenance and improvement of the reserve land. The duties of the Trustees are defined under Section 4 of the Shrine of Remembrance Act 1978 (the Act).
Who we're looking for
Under the Act, successful candidates are to have experience and skills in, and knowledge of, one or more of the following:
- governance;
- marketing, advertising or public relations;
- asset management;
- public education;
- architecture, building or engineering;
- business,
- finance or administration;
- fundraising;
- public affairs;
- community engagement;
- veterans affairs;
- military service.
Military service is not a requirement for a general Shrine Trustee position.
