About the board

The Swine Industry Projects Advisory Committee (SIPAC) is a statutory ministerial advisory committee whose primary role and function is to advise the Victorian Minister for Agriculture on expenditure from the Swine Compensation Fund and related matters concerning Victoria's swine industry.

About the role

The Minister for Agriculture is seeking expressions of interest for the role of chairperson and two committee members for a three-year term.

Who we're looking for

Applicants must be able to demonstrate knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • the pig and pork and allied industries
  • biosecurity or market access
  • quality assurance and food safety
  • finance, legal practice or business management
  • agricultural, animal or veterinary science
  • public policy
  • any other area the Minister considers relevant to the functions of the Committee.

Other desirable selection criteria include:

  • current/previous Livestock Advisory Committee experience
  • current/previous membership of Commonwealth, Victorian, local government, or industry bodies and your contributions to these.
  • demonstrated experience in industry leadership, industry organisations and/or industry networks preferred.
  • research investment expertise.
