Public hospitals and multi purpose services (‘health services') are entities operating under the Health Service Act (Vic) 1988 and are integral to the Victorian health system. The board of a health service is accountable to the Minister of the day for the delivery of health care to a high quality, safe and in a cost-effective way.
These positions provide an exciting opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of Victorian communities. Applicants are selected for their personal and professional experience, knowledge, and skills that will complement the board in providing strategic leadership and oversight of health care for Victorian communities.
The role of the board includes:
Directors are required to attend a monthly board meeting of approximately 2-3 hours duration, to participate in at least 2 board subcommittees and be available for other events requiring board representation. Directors of Mildura Base Public Hospital are paid an annual rate of $8,520 per annum.
