The Victorian Government is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from Victorians who have been affected by a workplace incident involving death, serious injury or illness to join the Workplace Incidents Consultative Committee (WICC).
This is an opportunity to use your personal experience to make a difference by providing advice directly to Government to drive improvements to workplace health and safety in Victoria.
Overview
About the Committee
The WICC was established in 2021 under Victoria's occupational health and safety laws and regulations to strengthen the voice of Victorians who have been affected by a serious workplace incident.
The WICC's purpose is to provide advice to the Minister for WorkSafe and the TAC about the needs of people affected by workplace incidents and policies and practices relating to occupational health and safety.
Over the past four years, the WICC has provided advice to the Minister on a range of issues. It has also been consulted by government agencies to share its lived experience perspective to contribute to the design and implementation of relevant initiatives.
The WICC meets approximately six times a year. WICC meetings are held in person in Melbourne CBD, though may occasionally be held in other regional centres. When unable to attend meetings in person, members can attend via videoconference.
Administrative support is provided to the WICC by the Department of Treasury and Finance.
