The Department of Transport and Planning's (DTP) Audit, Risk, and Integrity Committee (ARIC) is a mandatory committee established under the requirements of the Standing Directions 2018 issued under the Financial Management Act 1994.
The ARIC consists of four independent members (including the Chairperson) and three management representatives. The committee meets at least five times each year, with the authority to convene additional meetings depending on the annual work plan and business needs.
The purpose of the ARIC is to provide the Secretary of DTP with independent assurance on financial and performance reporting responsibilities, risk oversight and management, internal control systems, external and internal audit activities, integrity assurance, and legislative and policy compliance.
The Department of Transport and Planning invites applications from individuals with appropriate skills and experience for appointment as an Independent Member.
This role is a paid, part-time appointment. The term of office will be three years from the date of appointment with approved persons eligible to be considered for a further term, subject to a performance review undertaken by the ARIC Chairperson.
Meetings are held in person at 1 Spring St, Melbourne or at other locations within metropolitan Melbourne. Hybrid attendance may be available.
The Department of Transport is looking for an exceptional individual who has financial, audit and risk management experience in a government context, with a strong understanding of the remit for Audit Committees as detailed in the Financial Management Compliance Framework under the Financial Management Act 1994.
