About the board

Solar Victoria is pleased to invite applications for up to two positions as a member of the ICRG for up to a period of 12 months. Successful members are appointed by the Chief Executive, Solar Victoria, as delegate of the Minister for Energy and Resources, to represent both industry and consumers in the Victorian solar market.

The appointed ICRG members must commit to attending regular meetings typically every two months or at times a different frequency depending on requirement. This position provides an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified and experienced members of the solar industry, and members of the community, with relevant experience and capabilities to represent industry and consumers by contributing to the development of Solar Victoria's programs.

For both industry and consumer representatives, it is expected that members will consult widely with their networks in the industry to help inform the Solar Homes Program rebate streams and other programs managed by Solar Victoria. The members will utilise their networks and vision to inform, provide feedback and have input into Solar Victoria's programs on a regular basis.

Solar Victoria is looking to add to a balanced group of members to ensure diverse representation encompassing:

  • Small, medium, and large retailers
  • Rural, regional, and metro areas
  • Gender and age diversity
  • Cultural diversity
  • Installers
  • Manufacturers/wholesalers/distributors
  • Energy consumer representatives.

About the role

In October 2019, Solar Victoria established the Industry and Consumer Reference Group (ICRG) to provide input on the effective delivery of the Solar Homes Program and the sustainable development of the solar industry in Victoria. The ICRG provides advice on industry aspects including safety and quality matters, associated standards, consumer protections and customer experiences, technology and future grid requirements, skills and workforce development, product stewardship and other matters relevant to the Victorian solar industry. With the ICRG now entering its fifth year of operation, it has effectively demonstrated Solar Victoria’s commitment to working closely with the solar industry and Victorian consumers.
