The Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) Board oversees the regulation of education and training in Victoria to ensure quality learning outcomes in safe, well-governed environments. Established under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006, the Board guides the VRQA's work in registering and regulating schools, vocational education and training providers, and home schooling, and regulating apprenticeships and traineeships. Through its governance and strategic direction, the Board supports the Victorian Government's vision for an education system that empowers informed choices and protects the interests of students.
The Chair of the VRQA Board leads governance and ensures the Authority operates effectively and in line with its statutory obligations and strategic plan. Reporting to the relevant Ministers, the Chair presides over Board meetings, facilitates informed decision-making, and fosters constructive engagement among members. Working closely with the CEO, the Chair sets agendas, ensures timely and accurate information flow, and represents the Board in key stakeholder relationships. Through this leadership, the Chair guides the Board in shaping priorities, overseeing financial performance, and safeguarding quality education and training outcomes for Victorians
