Benalla Health is a Public Hospital (which includes multi purpose services and early parenting centres) which delivers a range of programs and services for the local communities. Public hospitals are entities operating under the Health Service Act (Vic) 1988 and are integral to the Victorian health system. The board is accountable to the Minister for Health for the delivery of health care to a high quality, safe and in a cost-effective and sustainable way.
These positions provide an exciting opportunity for persons with an interest in making a difference in the health sector and have the knowledge and skills for ensuring health care is delivered safely and effectively, with public money used to the benefit of all Victorians.
As a director you will be doing more than just contributing your time or knowledge. Being appointed to a hospital board places you in a position of trust. You will play an important role in providing leadership, accountability and integrity in the delivery of healthcare across Victoria.
Directors are required to attend a monthly board meeting of approximately 2-3 hours duration, participate in at least 2 board subcommittees and be available for other events requiring board representation.
