Planning Panels Victoria (PPV) is seeking suitably qualified people to be appointed to our pool of sessional members.
PPV plays a critical role in Victoria's land use and planning system. It facilitates public participation in planning and environmental decision making. Members conduct public hearings and provide independent and expert advice to the Minister for Planning and other decision-making authorities. Our work program includes planning scheme amendments, major projects, precinct structure plans, urban renewal projects, infrastructure and development contributions plans and Environment Effects Statements.
PPV comprises a core group of senior members and a pool of sessional members who provide independent, expert advice and make recommendations on significant planning and environment matters.
PPV’s sessional members:
The time commitment and workload for sessional members varies throughout the year depending on hearing frequencies, complexity, required skill sets and member availability. Hearings are held in person, in Melbourne and rural and regional Victoria, and online.
Applications are invited from those with specialised technical expertise in:
Familiarity with the Planning and Environment Act 1987, the Environment Effects Act 1987 and the principles of natural justice is preferred.
Applications to join the sessional member pool are being sought across October and November, with applications closing at COB Monday 24 November 2025.
