Purpose
Safe Food Victoria is established under the Safe Food Victoria Act 2026. Safe Food Victoria has responsibility for regulating food safety matters within the Victorian food industry. Safe Food Victorias functions include directly administering a regulatory system to detect, manage and response to food safety risks and comply with national standards. Safe Food Victoria also supports co-regulators, such as local government, in their regulatory roles concerning food safety.
