Purpose
The Murray Valley Wine Grape Industry Development Committee was originally established in 1990 as two separate committees under the Victorian Agricultural Industry Development Act 1990 and the New South Wales Agricultural Industry Services Act 1989. However, following a successful vote of wine grape growers in the Murray Valley regions of Victoria and NSW, the responsible Ministers in Victoria and NSW agreed to reconstitute the two committees as a single committee under the provisions of the Victorian Agricultural Industry Development Act 1990. This process was completed in 2004.
The MVWGIDC support the Murray Darling and Swan Hill wine region growers by collecting and expending levies on projects that provide value, education and growth to the industry.
