Purpose
Section 291D of the Social Services Regulation Act 2021 (the Act) sets out the functions of the Convener, which are as follows:
On receipt of a request for advice on the internal review of a worker decision, the Convener must, as soon as practicable, convene an independent expert advisory panel of one or more panel candidates to consider that request for advice.
The Convener may consult with the Regulator on any matter relating to the general convening or operation of independent expert advisory panels.
In this section request for advice on the internal review of a worker decision means a request by the Regulator for advice under section 92E of the Worker Screening Act 2020.
