Purpose
The Alcohol and Other Drugs Ministerial Advisory Committee (AOD-MAC) provides strategic, confidential, and evidence-based advice to the Minister for Mental Health on priority issues relating to alcohol and other drugs (AOD) in Victoria. This includes advising on the progress of the Victorian Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategy 20252035 and the implications of system reforms for the AOD sector.
The AOD-MAC supports high-quality, coordinated advice across government, strengthening consistency and coordination in governance across the AOD system and contributing to the delivery of key commitments and initiatives. It plays a critical role in informing reform efforts and identifying opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
Through its advisory role, the AOD-MAC provides strategic guidance on priority issues and reform implementation, and advocates for system transformation, service improvement, and better outcomes for consumers
